ANDROS FOROS: VNITŘNÍ DÍTĚ
Čerpá inspiraci v gotickém sochařství kladením důrazu na obsah sdělení, kde vše má své místo a význam. Formou narušuje stereotypy, aby přiměl k subjektivnímu hledání významových souvstažností. Andros Foros (1993) v médiu plastiky, malby a kresby reflektuje dětství jako realitu, v níž jedinec potkává vlastní minulá já, jež jsou živoucí součástí jeho současnosti i budoucnosti. Právě dialog mezi unikátními momenty vlastního já je signifikantní trajektorií kotvící identitu postavy v jejím právě přítomném momentu. Dětství je detekčním kódem, alternující formou, determinantem bytí. Symboly a atributy Forosových postav jsou současné, mnohdy parodizující; sakrálnost se mísí s groteskou a hyperbolou. Superhrdina či jezulátko oscilují mezi rolí osvícené oltářní dominanty a temnotou bloudící hračky. Andros Foros reflektuje radosti i běsy vlastního já se samočinnou kompenzací neohrožené kapacity dítěte. Kurátorkou výstavy je Magda Danel.

Touto výstavou otevíráme v GFDP cyklus výstav, ve kterém bude tematicky dominantní osobnost dítěte či dětství. Další výstavou z tohoto cyklu navážeme v červnu 2025.

ANDROS FOROS: INNER CHILD
He draws inspiration from Gothic sculpture by focusing on the content of the message, in which everything has its place and meaning. He uses form to disrupt ingrained stereotypes and thus encourage a subjective searching for semantic correlations. Working with the media of sculpture, painting, and drawing, Andros Foros (1993) explores childhood as a reality in which adult individuals encounter their own past selfs, which are a living part of a person’s present and future. In fact, the dialogue between unique moments of one’s own self is an important trajectory that anchors our identity in the present moment. Childhood is
a detection code, an alternating form, a determinant of being.
The symbols and attributes associated with Foros’s figures are contemporary and often parodic in nature; the sacred mixes with the hyperbolic and grotesque. A superhero or Baby Jesus oscillate between enlightened altar figure and the darkness of an errant toy. Foros explores the joys and demons of his own self with the self-adjusting compensation of a child’s capacity for fearlessness. The exhibition is curated by Magda Danel.
